In mid-February 2021, I met a nice lady named Sylvia Rodriguez at bingo. When we started talking, we realized that we had similar stories. Sylvia lost her husband in 2015 after 48 years of marriage. Having lost Connie, we had immediate common ground and a connection. She was so easy to talk to and we seemed to hit it off fairly quickly. These pictures were taken on our first date a couple of weeks later.
Sylvia and I went to the HOPSCOTCH MUSEUM in downtown San Antonio. It was an unusual artistic museum to say the least. To the left, is a picture of Sylvia and me with a mural painting. Although it is hard to tell from one static picture, the eyes had a constantly changing pattern. Click here to view all of the pictures taken that day at the museum.
After the show, we sat on the patio listing to music and eating a delicious cheese and BBQ sandwich from a food truck attached to the museum.
Being that it was St. Patrick's Day, Sylvia and I went to the San Antonio Riverwalk on March 17th to see the green-colored river. Although you can tell from the first picture that it was green, we both decided that it probably didn't look much different from that the rest of the year! But the day was cool and it was a beautiful day. We ate at THE ORIGINAL MEXICAN RESTAURANT and enjoyed a couple of margaritas.
Michelle suggested that I make a romantic dinner for Sylvia. So, making two of the only 3 things that I can cook, eggplant parmesan and lasagna, I whipped up a special dinner for Sylvia and me. I have to add that Sylvia did help with the eggplant. The dinner started with a toast to a long and beautiful relationship.

Sylvia enjoying the breeze in our backyard.
Sylvia and her youngest daughter, Jeannette, and her great grandchild, Khloe, went to Mi Tierra to celebrate her 71st birthday. Here she is being serenaded by the Mariachi's who were singing "Las Mananitas". (Of note: Sylvia later told me she lied about her birthday. She turned 72, not 71! I kid her about it to this day.)
Having drinks at the Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club where we were entertained by Paul Rodriguez! That weekend we celebrated Sylvia's 72nd Birthday! May 29, 2021.
Enjoying some live music at Luna, a live music venue on San Pedro Ave. in San Antonio where we were entertained by Ms. (Tamara) Mack and the Daddies!
We went to THE COVE off of Cypress Street downtown for some great music, food and brews. Note the heart-shaped corn chip below the hamburger. You can just barely make out Sylvia's face in the picture board in the last picture. 07/17/2021

Sylvia and I had a great Halloween that started with the San Antonio Zombie Walk and then handed out plenty of candy for Halloween. Click here to view all of the pictures taken that weekend.

Sylvia and I went to Gruene, TX for a great dinner at the River grill followed by a show by Leann Rhimes at Gruene Hall on February 11, 2022. We stayed overnight at a bed-n-breakfast at the Homestead Inn in New Braunfels. It was a wonderful valentine's day weekend.
Sylvia's newest great-granddaughter, Alexis Marie.
Sylvia, Cynthia, James and I went to PAINTING WITH A TWIST on Austin Hwy on May 20, 2022. It was James' birthday and Cynthia wanted to do something special to help him celebrate. Sylvia and I were happy to accompany them for the evening. At the end, they all agreed that my painting was the best painting! (Ok, I just added that. Nobody agreed that my painting was the best but they should have. I mean, I'm just saying!)
We celebrated Sylvia's 73rd birthday at J-prime Steakhouse. Click here to view all of the pictures taken that day.

Sylvia and I went to the 4-Way bar and grill on November 5, 2022 to see John Michael Montgomery. Natalie Rose was the opening act. Sylvia had a cowgirl kickin' time and it gave her a chance to put on her Cowgirl hat and boots for the evening!
Sylvia's mom, Annie Orozco, passed away on November 14, 2022! Her daughter, Gezelle, made it from Oregon just minutes before she passed. Sylvia with Gezelle and Jeannette.
Sylvia and I went to see ON YOUR FEET: THE STORY OF EMILIO & GLORIA ESTEFAN at the Majestic Theater. The show was fantastic. The first picture is Sylvia at the Dorrego's Restaurant in the La Valencia Hotel prior to the show. The last picture is of me and the beautiful lighting for Christmas in the downtown area.
