Once again, we noticed that there was a country music festival in Ennis, Texas. We had been to the
Stars of Texas Music Festival in 2024 , but the main reason for attending this year was Brad Paisley, an artists Sylvia has been wanting to see for some time! So, having purchased a couple of Super-VIP tickets, we were off on a five-hour drive north to the Texas Motorplex in Ennis Texas, a small town just south of Dallas! And thank goodness for our favorite travel center, BUCEES!!!
The La Quinta Inn where we stayed last time, had no vacancies but luckily, there was a fairly new hotel, The Residence Inn by Mariott, that was built close to the festival in Waxahachie, TX.

Here we are with our "Golden Ticket" for the festival which allowed us to get the lanterns that we lit each night. Sylvia is standing next to the entrance sign for the
Stars of Texas Festival sign and I am standing next to the
Jack Daniels statue, a big sponsor for the festival this year.
As we were headed for our seats close to the stage, the Kruse Brothers were playing music already! Neither Sylvia nor I had heard of them before, but they had a pretty good opening set.

- Cory Morrow - Following the Kruse Brothers was Cory Morrow. He played a combination of Texas Country and Red Dirt Music sprinkled with some high energy rock and roll. His set was quite loud.

The next morning, before we headed to the last day of the festival, we stopped and ate breakfast at the Eggsquisite Cafe. Great breakfast! We also went to Wal-mart to do a little shopping and then it was back to the final day's activities!
The day's music started with an older artist named Ray Wylie Hubbard. He did a number of old tunes including some Willie Nelson. He made it a fun set. The music was great.
- Ray Wylie Hubbard -
Following Ray Wylie Hubbard was an energetic young singer named Rick Trevino! Texas born and raised, he sang a number of old Texas tunes including music by Freddie Fender and Little Joe y la familia. He even sang some songs in Spanish! Really enjoyable stuff!

The penultimate act was called The Frontmen!
The Frontmen, sometimes credited as the Frontmen of Country, are an American supergroup of country music singers. The group consists of Larry Stewart, Richie McDonald, and Tim Rushlow, who respectively were the former lead singers of Restless Heart, Lonestar, and Little Texas. To be honest, neither Sylvia nor I had heard of them or their previous groups so although they played some excellent country music, it was all new to us.

Finally, to close the Sunday night and weekend full of country music, Tracy Lawrence hit the stage with his set. This was a surprise because Travis Tritt was suppose to close the festival! Tracy Lee Lawrence is an American country music singer, songwriter, and record producer. Born in Atlanta, Texas, and raised in Foreman, Arkansas, Lawrence began performing at age 15 and moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 1990 to begin his country music career. Of note, we had seen Tracy Lawrence in 2024 when we attended the festival previously, and both times, he was not in good voice! Sylvia felt like he was singing in the wrong key. Needless to say, she was a little disappointed that Travis Tritt did not appear and we left halfway through Tracy Lawrence's set!

Worn out by two full days at the festival grounds, we settled into our hotel room for a quick shower and a long night's sleep. But I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the lantern lighting during the fesival. As we did for the festival in 2024, each night we lit a lantern with the other thousands of participants at the music festival. Here are some of the pictures taken!

A truly magical sight of all the lanterns being released simultaneously!
