Sophia turns 7
& Erica turns (almost) 40!

Well, it was a little bit late in the month, but what a great get together we had at Erica's and Andrew's new home...and the pool was the center of the party!!! First off, let me say that Erica was only 39, but, I mean, it's close enough to "middle-age" to say she's 40! Some people say "50" is middle age, but seriously, how many 100-year old people do you see walking around. Fortunately, at 39, she still has a 'baby' face.

Since Sophia's birthday is on May 1st, naturally she had her own celebration at home earlier in the month. One of her biggest surprises was a blue heeler, named Dixie, rescued in Temple. Below are some of the pictures of her beautiful new 'family' member!

Erica & Andrew had a huge spread of food and drinks already set up, including an ice cream bar (right) with multiple toppings. Unfortunately, by the time we got to that point, I had eaten so much of the other food, I didn't even get a chance to try it, but the kids had a blast with it!

In addition to the usual suspects, Jennifer, Destiny, Julianna, Jonathan, Clarissa, Roman and Amina joined us and were ready to partaayyy!

And then it was POOL TIME !!

The kids all jumped in and couldn't have had more fun splashing around! Below is a group of pictures of everyone enjoying the water!

There were water guns aplenty: Roman was on the hunt and I'm pretty sure that Stella killed that Duck Floaty... big time! Even the 'big' kid in the middle picture got in the act!

Destiny is pictured with Sienna (middle, above) and Stella is riding that huge floaty (right, above)! All of the kids really had a blast that day! In fact, when it was time for cake, presents and ice cream, it was hard getting them out of the pool! But after about 2 hours of water fun, we headed back inside for more alcoholic beverages, snacks and birthday cake!

Above, we had to sing, "Happy Birthday" two separate times ... once for Sophia and once for Erica! Erica had a lot of help from Stella who led the singing of the 'birthday' song and then blew out the candles! Note the beautifully decorated chocolate cake for Sophia and the Keylime Pie for Erica!!

Above, is a close up of Sophia's cake pictured with the proud parents! It was a great get-together to have them all visiting from Temple!

Both of the 'birthday' girls were showered with gifts! Here are some pictures of Sophia opening some of her presents! Erica also received a number of presents but opened her gifts more privately.

To the left (above), Sylvia was relaxing while engrossed in the horror movie, Descent:2! James is watching Sienna devour a number of cookies!

This last picture, to the left, shows how helpful Sienna was in cleaning up! She single-handedly took care of all the icing on those cookies! She didn't eat the whole cookie... just the icing! Hey, she knows what she likes..right? The party was suppose to be a 3-hour party from 3-6 p.m. but I guess everyone didn't get the memo since many people were still hanging around about 8 o'clock. I guess you can't help getting too much of a good thing! A great time was had by all.
