See Jason Aldean at the Moody Center in Austin

August 16, 2025

Once again, we headed to Austin for a concert at the Moody Center to see Jason Aldean! It was a fantastic show! There were two opening acts including RaeLynn (Rachael Lynn Woodward) and Nate Smith! There was also a special appearance that night from Ronnie Dunn (of Brooks and Dunn)!

We stayed downtown at the Holiday Inn Express/Hotel Indigo, picked for it's proximity to the bus line taking us straight to the Moody Center about a mile north of the hotel. We had stayed at this hotel in the past! Fortunately, the bus line was about a block and a half away and dropped us off a block from the venue!

Well, not unexpectedly, the place was filled with people wearing similar Jason Aldean style Cowboy hats and western-wear! But I was there with my own 'Cowgirl' that evening! Also fortunately, the drinks were literally 20 steps away (as the sign next to our seats indicated)! Unfortunately, Sylvia had to head back upstairs for those nachos that she ate that night!

It was a beautiful venue, however, and we had great floor seats to the event.

The opening act, was a singer known simply as RaeLynn! I found out later that her full name was Rachael Lynn Woodward, a grand-daughter of Willie Nelson, who made her initial splash into country music on the second season of THE VOICE!

Range Cafe Range Cafe Following RaeLynn, was Nate Smith! His set was fantastic, very energetic, as he sang and danced across the stage. His music had a hard country edge to it, similar to the music of Jason Aldean.

Finally, it was time for the headliner himself, Jason Aldean, who gave a riveting performance that night! Sylvia and I downloaded a number of his hits before the concert and one song, DIRT ROAD ANTHEM, was perhaps my favorite! At one point, Sylvia even wanted to delete the song from the playlist -- geesh!!! What was she thinkin'??? But, yes, towards the end he played it and for the first time, I was the one up dancing instead of Sylvia!

A big surprise of the evening was when Ronnie Dunn (of Brooks & Dunn) walked on stage and they sang a duet of his hit, NEON MOON! It is one of Sylvia's all-time favorite songs! Jason Aldean also did a simulated duet with a video of Carrie Underwood!

PaintingIt was a little over 3 hours of great music. Jason Aldean didn't leave anything on the table and gave it his all! We walked to the bus stop which was about a block away and fortunately only waited about 10 minutes before the bus came. It was still a warm Austin night with temperatures still in the 80's when the bus arrived at 11:30 p.m. So much so, that we both needed to shower off the stickiness off before heading to bed!
