Taken on the back porch at Kenny's house by Kim.
The picture (above) was actually taken at the end of our visit. This was a great way to end the trip to Boston. We spent the last two days with Kim and Kenny at their home in New Hampshire. On our last day there, we picked up some Chinese food .(another New England favorite -- every city has their Chinese food and I am convinced that Boston has the best in the United States. Sorry, New York, San Francisco and Texas!)
We arrived at the Colonnade Hotel and were lucky enough to get a corner room with a great view of the city below us. The windows opened up and Jordan tried yelling, "Hello, Boston" to the people below us on the street, but, alas, no one in the big city was fazed by any of our "greetings". Since it was Erica's Birthday, we went out that first night to celebrate at the BACK BAY SOCIAL CLUB restaurant across the street from the Prudential Center in downtown Boston. It was a fairly short walk from our hotel and the night was cool and clear. Boston is one of the best walking cities to visit. The street scenes are pure entertainment.
Of course, we started with drinks and worked our way to some of the finer meals on the menu.

Erica's co-workers told her to visit LA Burdock Chocolatier in Boston for some fine homemade candy.
Truthfully, they had us at the word "chocolate" and everything else was forgotten.
The next day, it was on to Mike's!This is not to be confused with Mike's Pastries which Erica and I determined on a previous visit to contain the best cannolies in the universe. Mike's is an Italian food and brewery pit stop in Davis Square in Somerville that we have visited every time we are in Boston. It is more like a tradition. Even Connie loved it and she generally hated Italian food.
The subway system is part of Boston's charm. It's like being packed into a super-big elevator with 200 people. Now I know what a sardine feels like! If you're not lucky enough to get one of the seats, hang on for dear life. It's actually too crowded to fall anyway. The mass of people would cushion your fall. Everyone here was on their way home from the ballgame.

There's nothing more fun than spending the afternoon watching the Red Sox win at Fenway Park! We all donned our best Red Sox gear and jumped in a cab to the Park. To get there, you just had to follow the crowd. The weather was perfect.

<==Some unidentified urban girl in-da'-hood!
For reasons unexplained, we always seem to be going to Boston around Debbie's birthday. And the girl never ages!!!! After all these years, the girl is still only 35 years old. (At least that's what she told me and I, for one, believe her.)
We took a bus from Boston to Ken's place in New Hampshire but got off the bus two stops early in Newburyport. It is a quaint, seaside town. It is a little too touristy for its own good, but really looks like the kind of lovely place you could spend the rest of your life. On that particular weekend, they happen to be celebrating their Spring Festival. There was a band playing oldies in the central square. Great fifties tunes. I loved sitting there listening to them play. Lots of little shops and food stands. Just a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Then we were off to meet everyone at Kreuger's for Debbie's ... uh, hum... "35th" birthday celebration. The cast of characters included: Bill & Debbie; Matt, Daryl & Brooklyn; Kenny, Kim & Kevin; George, Cynthia, Erica, Michelle & Jordan.

The real attractions at Kreuger's are the specialty pizzas. (I just wish the name of the place didn't remind me of a NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET.) But it was all just more fun, more cheers and toasts and more great food. Of course, we had cake and presents for Debbie's birthday. One more thing to celebrate in Boston with the family.
