Eating at the Tower of the Americas
August 22, 2021

Battista's Las vegas hotel room

It had been a long time since either of us had been to the Tower of the Americas and Sylvia was excited to visit it again.

So, on a breezy summer night, we went downtown for a little upscale dining. Our meal started with the sun setting in the west. Fortunately, we had our sunglasses for the brighter part of the meal. In the picture to the right, I caught Sylvia in profile reflection as she admired the city from high above.

We ate slowly as we waited for the sunset and night views of the city. We started with drinks and an unusual avocado, shrimp and mango appetizer. You wouldn't necessarily think of those things going together but it was surprisingly tasty.

Below are some pictures from main course to dessert!

We started with soup: Lobster Bisque for me and New England clam chowder for Sylvia. Sylvia and I both had the New York strip steak with the garlic mashed potatoes. The creamed spinach and sauteed mushrooms (not shown) completed our side dishes.

Our waiter, Luke, shown in the second picture, was great and full of excellent suggestions, including the hot chocolate lava cake shown below with the cheesecake topped with caramel syrup.

Brief funny story, I ordered first and ordered my steak as "well-done". Sylvia, thinking I was ordering for her, kept correcting me to "medium-well". For a moment, I couldn't figure out why she wouldn't let me get it well-done like I wanted. It was good for a laugh afterward as I teased her about it later. (For several minutes!!) Bossy, bossy women, right??? Sugar Factory Sugar Factory Sugar Factory Sugar Factory

We ended the night by going to the observation deck. Night had fallen and we were able to see the lights of the city under a full moon. On top of all that, Sylvia was able to get her fortune read by ZOLTAR (see picture at the top) for one dollar -- definitely a bargain! It turned into a very special "date" night for both of us.
