Our Story

Ring&Roses

Erica, having finished her Bachelor’s at UT Austin, was diligently searching for a way to enter the health care field when she discovered a graduate program at TCOM in Fort Worth. After being accepted into this program, she began to make the move up north with her two cats. At the same time, Andrew, also to have finished his degree at UT Austin, was 'working', aka playing video games and petting dogs. After a phone call with ol’ Janny, they decided it was time for him to leave Austin and work his way into the real world. He spoke with an adviser, stumbled onto this graduate program, which he knew nothing about AND with the wrong email, and then promptly left for Spain & Amsterdam. Long story short, he discovered that he got in a week before school started. He grabbed his two dogs, rented an apartment online and made the move to Fort Worth. On the first day of school, Erica saw Andrew laughing from across the room and it was ‘love at first sight’.
The rest is history (or will be)…

couple photo The two became great friends and began dating half a year into their master’s program. After dating for a little over 2 years, they decide to move in and try living together. Andrew, being infinitely wise, knew Erica was "the one" before they moved in. Only a psycho would move in with someone they weren’t sure about, right? He contacted Erica’s father, George, to get his blessing to give away his daughter. He invited the family up to Fort Worth to be present for the engagement, and EXPLICITLY told George not to mention that they were going to be up there. He did not want Erica to be suspicious, but little did he know that George was not the great keeper of secrets Andrew had hoped for. George, waiting all of 5 minutes, called Erica to inform her that the family would be in Fort Worth on July 20th to “sell his comic books”. While somewhat true, Erica was not connecting easily-connectable dots. July 20th came soon enough, and Andrew took Erica lakeside in Flower Mound and proposed. Family from both sides were waiting to celebrate shortly after. We are beyond excited to be tying the knot on April 30, 2017, and we cannot wait to be celebrating our love story with our family and closest friends!

(And in George’s defense, the wait time was at least 10 minutes and he DID sell his comic book collection to a dealer in Arlington and Erica was none the wiser. See the "Engagement Party" link for details.)
