Well, the picture above, on the left, was taken somewhere around the year "2000". The Twin Towers in New York City were still in existence, we were young and happy, and the future was bright. But time is the great revelator. It was good seeing the family again even though the reason for the get together was a very sad one.
We all met at a favorite Chinese Restaurant that Hope and Matt picked out. The restaurant personnel were very gracious and accommodating and the food was delicious. Some of us may have had a little too much to drink as we made toasts to Kenny and tried to wash away the sorrow of his passing. The one person who would have loved the gathering could not be there. His family, worn out and saddened by the previous week's events understandingly chose to grieve in their own way. Matthew, in a truly special move, treated the group to this event and took care of the entire bill.
The following day, Hope, Steph, me, Cynthia and Jordan went to Davis Square to eat at one of favorite Italian places, Mike's Cafe, at the corner of Highland and Somerville Aves. in Davis Square. Connie loved this place also. We happened to see Mike, the owner, who tells us that this place "made him rich". (He's worked hard and deserves it.) Connie and I have met him before and always shower praise on him for the great food and service.
The plate on the left was a "squid" Pasta plate that Stephanie ordered
(I knew she was weird! Right???) and the picture on the right showed some leftovers of Baked Ziti, Cheesesteak sub and fried Zucchini.
