As usual, we ended up celebrating Jordan's and Michelle's birthday on the same weekend. This is a tradition that both of them have hated and have had to endure most of Jordan's life. Michelle turned 28 on January 16 and Jordan became a "teenager" on January 22!
This year was a little unusual because normally it is just the 5 of us, but this year, Andrew joined the group, albeit a little late for the pictures taken.
The night started out with dinner at the JOSEPHINE ST. CAFE where we had margaritas, bloody Mary's and Apple-tini's!
(Jordan had a lemonade when the waitress refused to give her an alcoholic beverage.) Toasts were made to the birthday "girls".
Then we filled up on country cooking with chicken-fried steak and grilled shrimp. It was all delicious.
After too much to eat and drink (Cynthia was the designated driver since she was pregnant and took us all home in Michelle's car), we headed back home for cake and presents. The cake was a Kahlua cake from Nadler's. The birthday cake ribbon got a little smudged but the cake was still delicious. Then Michelle and Jordan began tearing open their presents one by one. As I mentioned, Andrew Giordano joined the group towards the end and joined in on the fun.
The next morning we all went to eat dinner at Genghis Grill (Jordan's and Michelle's choice), and then everyone drove home -- Erica and Andrew to Fort Worth, Michelle to Austin and Cynthia & Jordan to south San Antonio. It was another fun weekend and as usual great to have all of the girls together in one city.
Now the big question! When Kevin is born on January 25, are we going to have to celebrate all 3 birthdays on the same weekend????
