Las Vegas trip, June 2017
The trip started out as our annual "golf" trip for a three-day golf tournament. The members of the current foursome in the picture include:
Charlie Olivares, Abel DeLeon, Joey Venegas and George Resendes. As usual, we played some spectacular courses and the golf portion of the trip was fantastic. This picture was taken before the first round at the Bali Hai Golf Course on the strip.
On this trip we booked two rooms at the Venetian Hotel.
Unfortunately, we didn't have a view of the strip but did have enclosed balconies with each room.
This was Destiny's first trip to Las Vegas since turning 21 and the party started before we even got settled in. Included in the group was Jennifer, Michelle, Erica and Jordan.
The first night there, we headed downtown to Freemont street.
As usual, the street was crowded with people, drinks and entertainment. There were 3 bands playing that night but we gravitated towards the '80's cover band for some great live music. We bumped into Bearded men in dresses, KISS, and ALIENS. We ended the night at one of my favorite restaurants in Vegas, Boston Pizza, on Las Vegas Blvd. where we dined on meatball subs, chicken parmigiana, and pizza.
The next day, while I was golfing, the girls 'walked the strip' taking in the sites, food and fun.
What can you expect when you get five single girls, alcohol and Las Vegas all in the same place at the same time. You know what they say, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas....
(.... only because I'm getting too old to remember all of the details!)
The last day was memorable for the fact that I almost left the girls in Vegas when I took off in the rental car to the airport. My side of the story is that when we checked out at 11:00 a.m., only Jordan was in the room. All of the other girls were gambling and walking the strip... and no one would answer their phone!!! So I told them to take a cab to the airport. They actually caught me leaving the hotel parking lot when I heard Michelle running after the car yelling, "Dad"! I looked in my rearview mirror to see them all chasing me. I was kinda' upset and they were out of breath, but we got to the Airport in time and had a great flight home. They probably have a different version of the way things went. Next year, I think I'm just going to leave them there in Vegas!
