Well, Jordan did it again. Despite being home schooled off campus for most of the year, she finished her junior year and moved into the senior class.
Last year we held the first annual Eddie V's celebratory dinner and now, it was time for another one. Here she is in the photo to the right with Cynthia and Kevin. Yep, my first grandchild is growing up.
(Brings a tear to my eye as I wonder what trouble she is going to get into as a senior in high school.)
This year was a little different in that I started dating Sylvia over the last few months. As it turned out, Sylvia was celebrating her birthday on the day before our visit to Eddie V's.
So it turned into a double celebration for Jordan and Sylvia who both got a complementary Banana Foster dessert.
Also this year, James and Noah joined in the fun. Of course we're about 5 months away from Cynthia and James tying the knot. Cynthia started the evening with her favorite martini, a cucumber martini with chamoy and followed it up with a chocolate martini. I got a lemon drop martini with chambord
(twice). Erica and Sylvia had the wine. All were delicious and had the appropriate affect on us. A good time was had by all. The middle picture
(below) shows the shrimp and steak dinner that both James and Noah ordered. Not shown was tha Halibut special that 3 of us had. Of course, Jordan and I both started with our favorite, baked crab cakes. They are unbelievably good.
Note the blue envelope on the table. It was a card and gift card for the new senior student at the table who indicated that she would not need any help spending it all.
"Yay, you!" As we ended the evening and exited the restaurant, a howling, electrical storm came up suddenly. We ended up socializing for an additional 15-20 minutes to allow the storm and rain to die down a little. It was a wild ending to a great night.
I don't know about the rest of the group, but I can barely wait for the 3rd annual Eddie V's dinner when Jordan finishes her senior year. She was lamenting that it would be her last one, but then I reminded her that she had 4 years of college, so there will be many more opportunities.
