Well, it was a combined birthday again. The earliest that we could get everyone together to celebrate Sophia's 3rd birthday (May 1st) and Erica's 35th birthday (May 11) was on May 14, which was actually nobody's birthday.
But that didn't stop us from celebrating and having fun. As it turned out, it was a "reveal" party also as Erica and Andrew told everyone that she was pregnant with their second child and that Stella was going to be a big sister! After I "revealed" that she was pregnant, I was told that everyone knew anyway. Geesh! Some reveal.
The pictures, above, show only a small portion of the food there that night. We had over 80 gourmet wings from Wayne's Wings restaurant off of Bandera Road. Andrew made a delicious cheese and sausage dip and baked cauliflower. He also smoked some pulled pork and we made sandwiches that are not shown but were delicious. They took a little longer to cook than Andrew had planned for but that was okay because we joked about the "mystery meat" most of the night. (As it turned out, it was well worth the wait.) There were several kinds of pastries and cookies including a scrumptious cheesecake that Andrew made that went fast!! All-in-all, it was a feast and everyone had plenty of great food and drinks.
As the night went on, it was time for the cake and presents. To the left, Erica is pictured holding her Carrot Cake from Nadler's Bakery. Bond did the honors cutting the cake for everyone. On the right, all of the kids including Kevin, Khloe and Stella helped Sophia blow out the candles!
Unfortunately, we did have one casualty from the party! Stella fell down while playing with the other children. She clearly was hurt and favored her left forearm. Surprisingly, later in the evening, she ran back upstairs to play with the other children. However, it was clear that she had a slight deformity to her distal forearm and the next day and x-ray showed a non-displaced, distal radial fracture. It was splinted and the ER physician felt that it would heal with minimal intervention. Tough girl. Erica said that as soon as they put the splint on, Stella tried to take it off. Well, the only daughter out of 3 who had a broken bone, now has a daughter with a broken bone. Like mother, like daughter. It was otherwise a fantastic evening, but I guess that's enough excitement for one night.
