When asked about where she wanted to eat for her birhday, I was surprised when Erica told me that we should go to TOP GOLF! I've had a $150 gift card from my girls sitting in a draw for about 2 years, but we had not had a previous opportunity to use it. It turned out to be a g
reat idea!
The group photo to the left shows all the great golfers who participated.
(Tiger Woods was in his own tournament that day and had to bow out, but we forged ahead anyway.) Despite their recent hectic schedules with the new baby, Michelle and Clint made it from Temple. Andrew also managed to break free from his Anesthesia residency program to join us. It was all fun!
Then it was time to show off our golfing skills. Andrew and Clint apparently had been secretly taking golf lessons because both of them hit some really
l-o-n-g, fantastic shots. Even Kevin got in some game. But the fun was in the playing, not the score. Coupled with some great food and drinks, a fun time was had by all. After spending almost 2 hours at TOP GOLF, we then headed back to my house for a couple of dart games
(and to spoil Erica with cake and presents). To the right, she is blowing out her candles. The cake is an Italian rum cake purchased from Sorrento's Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria in San Antonio.
Here she is posing with everyone and holding one of her favorite presents. Although she'd rather have a picture of her dear, old Dad, she had to settle for a picture made up of real dollar bills.
The final picture, here, shows all of my girls together, as it always should be. The only missing 'girl' was Mom who was toasted and mentioned often that day. But, hey, soon we will have two more girls added to the group, Sophia and a new girl to be named later this year as the sex of Erica's baby was revealed to us during our TOP GOLF game.
(Poor Kevin, the lone male in the group, will have to be the protector of all of them!)
