We all met at Dad's house at about 2:00 p.m. and as is usual when you get 4 girls together for a night out, there is the typical 3-4 hour preparation involving talking about make-up, exchanging make-up, and eventually trying on everyone else's make-up. So Cynthia, Erica, Michelle and Jordan were all in their own world for a few hours.
We had a couple of drinks and pictures at the house, but then took off for Cynthia's restaurant pick, Feast, on South Alamo Street in downtown San Antonio.
The dishes were an eclectic mix with a variety of Mediterranean-style servings including spicy shrimp curry, cornmeal-breaded fried oysters and goat-shoulder grilled steak. And they also served MAC-N-CHEESE and corn fritters. Of course they had a full bar and pictured here is a delicious Cucumber Martini that was ordered twice during the evening.
Then it was time to head to the house to have birthday cake and open presents. Kevin was really excited as he sat on the biggest present in the bunch. Cynthia (in this rather dark picture) blew out the candles while we sang, "Happy Birthday." The cake, itself, was a cheesecake with 4 different toppings. Unfortunately, we couldn't find the number "6" for her birthday, so we had to settle for the closest thing we had which changed her age from "36" to "39". Everyone was OK with it except for the birthday girl who would have preferred that we go lower rather than higher.
