The weekend started out on Friday night when 14 of us got together at Nicha's Mexican Restaurant for Margaritas, Margaritas and more Margaritas. Oh, yes! There was some Mexican food involved in there somehow, also. Erica had flown into town and had a chance to be with the family.
I am not sure why we took so many pictures, but it seemed that once we started taking them, we couldn't stop!
The next day, Saturday, we celebrated Cynthia's 35th Birthday a little early the weekend before her actual birthday to accommodate the various schedules of all of the girls. (Hey, I'm retired -- I can do any weekend!) It was a day at the spa for manicures and pedicures. No, I did not get either but the girls did have fun being pampered.
After that we were off to have a late brunch at La Madeleine where we chowed down on quiche, sandwiches and soup. All-in-all, it was a fun morning. Afterwards we went to Michael's new shop to hang out for awhile with Michael and David.
On the way home, we stopped at Nadler's Bakery to pick up Cynthia's Birthday Cake, a Boston cream cake. It is pictured below, but the picture does not do justice to just how good it tasted. Of course, we couldn't pass up many of the other pastries behind the glass counter.
Later that evening, we went to the House of China for some great Chinese food. Originally, we were planning to go to the Magic Time Machine for her Birthday celebration, but everyone was a bit tired and we decided to eat at a closer restaurant. Then it was home to sing "Happy Birthday" and open presents. Although she had several presents, the one that was the center of attention and that she loved most was a picture of me naked on a bear skin rug. (Actually, my head photoshopped on the body of a young Burt Reynolds. But, who could tell, right?) I am sure that she will treasure this photo for her whole lifetime.
